Grant writing for funding

Are you struggling to get funded for your research ideas? Are you finding the peer review process demoralizing? Do you need to have cutting edge ideas but solid science too? Would you like someone who cares as much about your research as you do?

I can help. I received over $56 million in funding personally. I have had several NIH grants reviewed at the 1st percentile. I have experience of different study designs, interventions, behavioral science and implementation science, including multi-level approaches. Since I work on so many proposals, I see patterns in the reviewer criticisms. I can coach you through the process, provide writing and editing services, and help you be responsive to reviews. You will feel confident in your approach, excited by your significance and blown away by the impact you can have.

My experience as a writer

I have published over 200 scientific journal articles, editorials, and book chapters. I am in the top 1% of most influential scientists (according to the Web of Science ) with my work being cited over 20,000 times. I have also written policy documents and guidelines. If you need to tell a story with scientific credibility, I can help write persuasively and professionally.

My grant writing persona is THE GRANT DOCTOR. You can see the list of grants I have worked on here including R01, K01s, R21s, SBIRs, Center grants, P01s, U54s etc.

My clients include: SDSU, UNC, USC, ASU, NAU, COH, NCSU, Baylor, KP Washington, Baker IDI, University of Canberra, Verogen, UWA, University of Southern Denmark, McAllister & Quinn.

Some guidelines for what you might consider for an NIH R01: 1) A simple review with edits is 5 hours e.g. resubmission from experienced investigator. Allow 48 hour turnaround, a week before the grant is due. 2) A review that requires the grant to be re-organized and sections re-written for clarity and persuasiveness is 10 hours e.g. first submission from experienced investigator, resubmission from new investigator. Allow 4 days for review process, at least 2 weeks before the grant in due. 3) A review that includes design changes and one-one discussions is 15-20 hours e.g. first submission from first time investigator. Allow 7 days for review process, at least 3 weeks before the grant in due. 4) For writing a full grant from scratch, including finding citations, designing study etc. expect 50 hours and at least 2 months before deadline.

I edited a book the ABC of Behavior Change in 2005.

I am currently writing a book about my burnout journey and behavior change.

An outline can be found below. I would love support to find an agent or publisher.
